Germany SICK launches IME3x proximity sensor with longer inspection interval
Release Time:2019-11-16

Recently, the German SICK sensor has withdrawn from the self-developed new IME3x proximity sensor series products, and many excellent skills of continuous IME, such as sophisticated hot melt adhesive casting skills, smaller temperature offset, excellent shock resistance, etc. Cost-effective product positioning, can very well meet the customer's choice of the diversity of the switch.

The inductive proximity switch consists of three major components: a vibrator, a switching circuit, and an amplifying output circuit. The vibrator generates an alternating magnetic field. When the metal policy approaches this magnetic field and reaches the sensing interval, eddy currents occur in the metal policy, causing the vibration to decay, so that the vibration is stopped. The vibration of the vibrator and the change of the vibration stop are processed by the post-amplifier circuit and converted into a switching signal, which triggers the driving of the control device, thereby reaching the non-touch inspection intention.

The IME3x proximity sensor is a new line of products independently developed by SICK for longer distance inspections (up to 38mm). The IME3x is suitable for general use in longer interval inspections such as conveyor lines, warehousing, packaging, and machine tools. With the same inspection interval, it is possible to inspect finer objects, nuts, and cables. For more attenuating metals (such as aluminum, copper, stainless steel), a longer interval check can be done. It can also be used in place of some proximity switches with a check interval attenuation of 1.

The development of a commodity in any profession will influence and drive the development trend of related commodities. The long-distance proximity sensor is widely used on the back, which means more and more shopping malls. As early as June of this year, Vishay launched a miniature plastic case for rapid prototyping of reflective objects and proximity sensors to expand its optoelectronics portfolio. The enclosure is specially planned to complete the optical separation between a 3mm (T1) infrared emitter and a Vishay TSSP type or proximity sensor.

For reflective sensors such as active hand dryers, active towel dispensers, toys and active vending machines, the light separation between the transmitter and the sensor is a definite necessity. The VishaySemiconductors TSSP sensor is extremely sensitive, and the sensor may be accidentally activated even if only a very small amount of light is leaked. To avoid this, the traditional practice of planners is to spend precious moments to structure their mechanical casing and light barriers.

To speed up prototyping and shorten production processes, Vishay's TSSP-HA plastic housing provides planners with the optical separation they need and aligns the transmitter and sensor leads on a standard breadboard grid. In addition, grooves are planned on the upper edge of each side of the support wall for the top cover of the device, simplifying the opening planning of the sensor, and perhaps simplifying the alignment tube planning of the transmitter as required.
